PSC Celebrates Second Year of Record-Breaking Passenger Growth

Airport reports 9 percent passenger increase compared to 2023

Pasco, WA – For the second year in a row, the Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) has set a new passenger record. A total of 949,110 people traveled through PSC in 2024, officially making it the new busiest year on record. PSC beat the 2023 record of 872,578 by over 75,000 people, demonstrating the airport’s consistent growth as well as the strong community support for flying local.

The growth wouldn’t be possible without the support of PSC’s airline partners. In 2024, airlines at PSC started or expanded the following routes:

  • In February, American Airlines (AA) kicked off a daily nonstop flight to Phoenix (PHX).
  • In September, AA increased its PHX service to two daily flights.
  • In September, Avelo Airlines increased its service to Hollywood-Burbank (BUR) from two to four flights a week.
  • In October, Alaska Airlines started nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX).

“This is an incredible achievement for both the Tri-Cities Airport and our region,” said Buck Taft, Tri-Cities Airport Director. “Breaking our passenger record for the second year in a row highlights the growing popularity of the Columbia Basin and the trust our travelers place in PSC. We look forward to building on this success and believe this helps set the stage for even greater opportunities in the coming years.”

Airlines count their passengers in terms of enplanements, or the number of people who board an aircraft at an airport. The number of people arriving are considered deplanements; the sum of both numbers is an airport’s total passenger number. In 2024, the airport saw 478,016 enplanements, a 9 percent increase compared to the 437,200 enplanements recorded for 2023. The busiest month of 2024 was December, which saw 49,343 enplanements, also a new record for the airport.
