Tri-Cities Airport Urges Travelers to Get REAL ID Ahead of Federal Deadline
Pasco, WA – Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) is reminding all travelers that beginning on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will officially enforce the REAL ID Act. This means every passenger 18 years and older must present a REAL ID–compliant driver's license or another acceptable form of identification, such as a valid U.S. passport or U.S. Military ID, to pass through security and board domestic flights.
Washington state’s REAL ID compliant forms of identification are referred to as enhanced driver’s license (EDL) or enhanced identification card (EID) and feature a U.S. flag marking. To obtain an EDL or EID, residents must visit their local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with the required documentation, which includes:
- Proof of identity (e.g., birth certificate or valid passport)
- Social Security number
- Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, bank statement)
Residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure timely receipt of their REAL ID. Failure to obtain a REAL ID compliant identification before the deadline will result in delays through security, additional screening, and the possibility of not being permitted into the security checkpoint and therefore missing your flight.
For more information on REAL ID requirements and how to apply, please visit the Washington Department of Licensing’s website.
